LG Stops Sales of the Optimus Mach LG Stops Sales of the Optimus Mach
Do you like this story?
Sales of LG's Optimus Mach UL3000 smartphone in Korea has been stopped thanks to the discovery of a serious bug in the phone - after it had already been sold to about 13,000 customers.
What happens is that everytime the battery is taken off the phone, it reverts to default status - much like a phone after a factory reset. None of the user stored data remains on the phone as they all obviously get wiped out. LG are preparing a software update that might go out as early as this weekend. It's amazing how a phone-breaking bug like this got past QA in the first place.

The Optimus Mach is outta here at the speed of sound
The Optimus Mach runs on Android 2.2 (Froyo) and sports a 3.8-inch multi touch display which has a resolution of 480 x 800. The new entry in the Optimus family is powered by a 1GHz processor courtesy of Texas Instruments and has a 5 mega pixel camera to keep all you shutterbugs happy. Your multimedia needs will be taken care quite nicely as the device plays a range of formats with 1080p playback capability. With Dolby Mobile 2.0 certification, it will provide you with a rich and vivid audio experience. The Optimus 2X also comes with an HDMI port, digital compass, Facebook, twitter and Bebo integration via LG’s SNS widget. Connectivity options include a USB 2.0 port, along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
This wasn't good news for LG a month before the Optimus 2X's release. The Optimus 2X is primed to become the world's first smartphone to come out with a dual-core Tegra processor.
